HR Investigations for Managers: (Could be split into 3 modules on the training day)


Module 1: The Context in which Investigations take place

Areas covered include: objectives and what is an investigation, why is it important, and what are the risks?  Who conducts the investigation? What types of investigation are there? Legal and organisational context along with grievance and disciplinary in focus.

 

Module 2: Preparing for an Investigation and Processing Information
Some of the key areas covered but not limited to:

Organisational preparation, terms of reference, investigation planning, handling an investigative meeting, the Interview process, questioning techniques, gathering the evidence, writing the management report, after the investigation.

 

Module 3: Practice and Consolidation

Scenarios to work through, small group role play, management report writing exercise, along with summary and learning points.
